Sources of Ganges TrekDuration : 09 Nights / 10 Days Destination Covered : Delhi - Rishikesh - Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Tapovan - Rishikesh - Delhi Day 01 : Delhi  Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Day 02 : Delhi - Rishikesh Coach After breakfast drive to reach Rishikesh (365 m) by covering approx 225kms. via Hardwar in 6 hrs. Stop at Hardwar to visit Har-ki-Pauri and continue to Rishikesh, one of the holy place for Hindus. Arrive and check into hotel for overnight stay. Day 03 : Rishikesh - Uttarkashi Coach After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi (1885 m) by covering approx 148 kms. in 7 hrs. The road climbs up steadily to Srinagar and then onwards steeply. Arrive and check into  Tourist Bungalow for overnight stay. Day 04 : Uttarkashi - Gangotri Coach After breakfast drive to reach Gangotri (3048 m) by covering approx 101kms. in 5 hrs. Enroute visit the Ganganani Hot Springs. There is a beautiful gorge, at Bhairav Ghat. Arrive and check into Tourist Bungalow for overnight stay. Day 05 : Gangotri - Bhujbasa Trek  After breakfast start first day's trek to Bhujbasa (3658 m) following the river Bhagirathi by covering approx 14 kms. Enroute you can have beautiful view of Mt. Sudershan, Matri etc. Bhujbasa provides a majestic view of the Bhagirathi group of peaks. Overnight at Tourist Bungalow. Day 06 : Bhujbasa - Gaumukh - Tapovan Trek After breakfast start trekking to Tapovan (4400 m) by coverig approx 8 kms. in 3 .hrs. First reach Gaumukh, the source of the river Ganges, cross the Gangotri glacier and climb steeply to reach a beautiful meadow, Tapovan with a majestic view of Mt. Shivling Meru etc. Arrive and overnight stay in tents. Day 07 : Tapovan - Bhujbasa Trek Morning after breakfast start trekking down to Bhujbasa by covering approx 8 kms. in 2 hrs. Overnight at Tourist Bungalow. Day 08 : Bhujbasa - Gangotri - Uttarkashi Trek Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Gangotri by covering approx 14 kms. in 4 hrs. From Gangotri drive to Uttarkashi by covering approx 101kms. in 5 hrs. Arrive and overnight stay at Tourist Bungalow. Day 09 : Uttarkashi - Rishikesh Coach  After breakfast drive to reach Rishikesh by covering approx 148 kms; in 7 hrs. Overnight at Tourist Bungalow. Day 10 : Rishikesh - Delhi Coach After breakfast drive to Delhi by covering 225 kms. in 7 hrs. Arrive Delhi and transfer to international airport in time to board flight for onward destinaiton. |
