Beaches of Goa
Goa is one of India's most popular destinations. The name is synonymous
with sun, sand & beach.
Boasting of an enchanting fusion of Indian & Mediterranean cultures,
it has a necklace of gorgeous beaches that run for nearly 65 miles from
Harmal Beach in the North to Palolam Beach in the South. It is truly difficult
to decide which beach to head for - the long curve of Vagator with it's
lush coconut palms; Anjuna and Calangute with their unorthodox, late 'sixties
appeal'; long, lovely Sinquerim with it's elegant resort hotels; small &
pretty (and quite up-market) Bogmalo; the palm-clad, silver white sands
of Majorda; busy Colva or the new resorts to be found from Cavelossim to
Cancona !
Goa, a former Portuguese colony, is live with activity from October to April.
It's carnival atmosphere along with the exotic sea-food make it an irresistible
experience. All kinds of accommodation - from five star hotels to Beach
shacks - are available to suit every pocket. Most charter flights from European
countries fly directly to Goa on a weekly basis. So Goa can be visited as
an independent destination or as part of other tours of which there are
several. There are many excursions available Ex Goa.
