Heritage Tea Trail

Delhi - Digboi - Kaziranga - Guwahati - Darjeeling - Kolkata


teaDay 01: Arrive Dibrugarh Ex-Delhi / Kolkata by Air.
Received at the airport & transferred to a Heritage Chang Bungalow; Afternoon -introductory tea walk in a tea garden. Evening- enjoy a Jhumur dance performance by the tea tribe on the Bungalow lawns. Overnight at the Chang Bungalow.

Day 02: Tea Tour/ Cultural Programme
Early morning take a boat cruise on the Mighty Brahmaputra –the lifeline of the state. After boat cruise take a tour of a Heritage Tea Garden to know the origin & the history of tea - how it is grown, its culture, all about tea tasting and its quality ; Pluck your own tea-leaf .Afternoon -take a nature walk in a natural protected forest area & visit an ethnic Assamese village. Evening - enjoy an Assamese dance on the Bungalow lawns.
Overnight at the Chang Bungalow.

villageDay 03: Drive to Tai-Phake Village/ Digboi
After breakfast, we drive to Tai Phakial village (56kms/1 hr) - an ethnic village whose kith and kin date back to the Ahom period. The villagers still maintain their age-old culture - a village worth exploring. We return to   Dibrugarh late in the afternoon after lunch. Enroute we see the Bell's Temple. It has over two hundred thousand brass bells. Overnight at the Chang Bungalow.

Day 04: Drive to Kaziranga National Park
Post breakfast we drive to Kaziranga National Park (220km/5h). Enroute visit the monuments & temples of the Ahom Dynasty at Siva-sagar. Reach Kaziranga late in the afternoon. Over night at Bon-Habi Resort.



kazaringaDay 05: At Kaziranga National Park
Early morning take an elephant safari in the central range of the park followed by a jeep safari after breakfast to the western range of the park Visit the eastern range in the afternoon. Evening relax. Over night at Bon-Habi Resort.

Day 06: Drive to Guwahati 
After early breakfast depart for Guwahati (220km/ 5h) Visit the Tea Auction Centre – the largest auction center for CTC tea. Visit a Tea Brokerage Firm to know more about tea tasting and its quality. Evening enjoy an Assamese dinner. Overnight at Hotel.  

guwahatiDay 07: Transfer to Airport  for flight to Bagdogra
After breakfast, get transferred to the airport to board your flight to Bagdogra. On arrival drive to your hotel.

Day 08: At Darjeeling
We will take you for a visit to the tea estate to learn about the fascinating process of   making the famous Darjeeling Tea. Afternoon explore the forest across the river Rungeet - a bird watcher's paradise. Overnight at Hotel.

museumDay 09 : Visit Railway Museum at Ghum
To day we enjoy a short enchanting ride in the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Visit the Railway Museum at Ghum (7407 ft) - the highest railway station in the world. View the memorabilia and artifacts of this railway system. From Ghum station, the train descends to reach the famous Batasia Loop where a spectacular view of the snow capped Kanchenjunga welcomes the visitors.Overnight at Hotel .

Day 10 : Transfer to Bagdogra airport to board flight  to Kolkata / Delhi
