Day Wise Plan

Day 01 Arrive: Delhi to start the Indo Tibetian Spiti Valley Tour

Meet on Arrive and transfer to hotel

Day 02 Delhi/Chandigarh/Shimla

Transfer to railway station to connect train to Kalka.

Arrive: Chandigarh | 1105 hrs | ac chair car

Meet upon Arriveival and straight drive to shimla (96 KMS- 3.5 hrs) on Arrival transfer to hotel.
Shimla: the capital of present Himachal state, the summer capital of British India during raj times names after deity Shamla Devi (another name of Kali). The city still retains much of its colonial buildings in variety of architecture, such as viceregal lodge, command house, gaiety theater, town hall, g.p.o. and Christ church on the ridge.

Day 03 Shimla / Sarahan (185 KMS/ 7-8 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Sarahan. The former capital of Bushahar empire, Sarahan is a wonderful little village located amidst lush green and beautiful surroundings of Deodar forests. Visit the historical Bhimakali temple, having an unusual architecture and wealth of carvings, a fine example of Hindu-Buddhist architecture. Deep down in the alley flows the river Sutlej and across lies the scenic snow-clad Shrikhand peak. Enjoy your overnight stay at Sarahan for the day.

Day 04 Sarahan / Sangla (92 KMS / 4-5 Hrs)

After breakfast, we move on from Sarahan, delving deeper into the breathtaking, secret world of the Kinnaur and Spiti valleys. Ride on to wangtu and further to kar cham and move down to right to Sangla, a picturesque little village with a small population,

Day 05 Sangla

Day excursion to chitkul. Sangla is also known for the impressive historical Kamru fort, which is now been dedicated to Kamakshi temple.

Day06 sangla / kalpa (57 KMS / 03 hrs)

Back track to Karchham and drive to Kalpa via Powari and Recongpeo. Enjoy a spectacular view of the mighty Kinnaur Kailash mountain ranges from anywhere up the road. Located at an altitude of 2,670m. After noon walk to local village and also visit old Buddhist Monastery with rare tankhas.

Day 07 Kalpa / Tabo (163 KMS / 7-8 Hrs)

Today ride along river sutlej bed and lush green forest. There are a number of small bridges and villages you will cross en-route via ribba and puh. Then turn to the indo-tibetan road. In northwest direction one can distinctly see some snow-covered peaks in the pin valley range. Navigate the hairpin bends and ride ahead for 24 km on paved road till yangthang considered as the ideal entry point in the land of lamas. Continue drive to tabo and visit tabo gompa. Founded in 996 ad, the gompa has some of the best-preserved examples of indo-tibetan art remaining in the world

Day 08 Tabo / Kaza (45 KMS/ 02 Hrs) Drive To Kaza Via Dhankar Monastery

Dhankar monastery: its ancient monastery now nearly in semi ruins due harsh weather and is being painstakingly restored.

Kaza monastery: it is another big gompa for serving the population of eastern side. It belongs to the tenth centuary and is located 50 KMS from kaza. It is a famous gompa next to tholing gompa in Tibet. It has about 60 lamas and a large collection of scriptures; wall paintings etc. Murals of this gompa have a great similarity to that of the Ajanta paintings.

Day 09 Kaza

Am: visit key monastery & khibber (4116 m/11 KMS). The monastery of Spiti with rare painting and scriptures. The scriptures are written in bhoti languages the mother tongue of bhoti as who came from tibet to Spiti to spread bhuddhism in the area. Further drive to kibber village (4400 m/9 KMS) the highest village in the world. Interact with the local people.

Pm: drive to comic, the higest village with polling and also see the huge statue of alikoteswra and the pin valley range from 13,000 feet.

Day 10 Kaza/Chandertal Lake

Drive to chandertal lake: emerald blue water – chandertal lake (4480 m) at the base of deo tiba. This lake should not be confused with a lake with the same name in lahaul valley. The flora enthusiast will have a wonderful time trying to identify the hundreds of flowers growing everywhere. Overnight in tents.

Day 11 Chandertal Lake/Manali

Morning: leave for manali via batal grammphu and rohtang pass (3980 m). The road is beautiful with Bhaga river flowing along and various streams from melting glaciers. Continue drive to manali.

Day 12 Manali

Naggar: situated about 20 KMS. From manali and commands a splended view of the valley. Naggar was the capital of kulu rajas for about 1400 years. Nagar castle, a huge beautiful building which serves as castle hotel is of great attraction. The paintings of late nicholas roerich can be seen at the roerich museum of paintings in a white-washed villa set in a jewel-like garden.

Visit hadimba devi temple, four tier pagoda temple in the thick deodar forest, manali village across manalsu nala -visit temple dedicated to manu.

Day 13 Manali/Delhi –

Either take over night volvo bus to Delhi reaching on day 14
or or or
drive to Chandigarh for overnight and drive to Delhi on day 14

Day 14 Delhi – Arriveival Delhi and take onward connection for flight back to Delhi or extend stay in Delhi
