Day Wise Plan

Day 01 Delhi | Beginning of Himalayan Jeep Safari |

Arrive Delhi, Meet on arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 Delhi – Chandigarh – Shimla

Morning train to Chandigarh and & Drive to Shimla (130 Kms/ 04 Hrs). On arrival Check-in at Hotel. PM: visit the British summer capital of India from the day of Raj.

Day 03 Shimla – Sarahan

After breakfast start Himalayan Jeep Safari to reach Sarahan (1920 m) via Narkanda (2690 m). Sarahan is a beautifully located township amid mountains with Shrikhand Mahadev Peak (5155 m) looming as a backdrop. Visit Bhimakali temple, a rare combination of Buddhist and Hindu architecture. The main idol of the goddess is about 200 yrs old.

Day 04 Sarahan – Sangla

After breakfast start safari to reach Sangla (2680 m). Arrive and camp on the bank of River Baspa. Sangla has houses on a slope built one upon another with Kinner Kailash peak (6600 m) dominantly situated in the background. Visit the nearby Kamru Fort, now dedicated to Kamakshi Temple. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 05 Sangla – Chitkul Pass- Sangla

After breakfast start safari to reach Chitkul Pass (3436 m/26 kms). Arrive and spend some time over the Sangla passto have panoramic view of surroundings. This pass opens routes to Garhwal Himalayas.

Day 06 Sangla – Kalpa

Drive to Kalpa via Powari & Recongpeo. Enjoy a spectacular view of the mighty Kinnaur Kailash mountain ranges from anywhere up the road. Located at an altitude of 2,670 m. Afternoon walk to local village and also visit old Buddhist monastery with rare Tankhas.

Day 07 Kalpa / Tabo (163 kms / 7-8 hrs)

Ride along river Sutlej on the Indo-Tibetan road. In northwest direction one can distinctly see some snow-covered peaks in the Pin valley. Navigate the hairpin bends to Yangthang considered as the ideal entry point in the land of Lamas. The country side suddenly changes from lush green to dy barren land with dunes. Visit Tabo Gompa, founded in 996 ad, the Gompa has some of the best-preserved examples of Indo-Tibetan art remaining in the world.

Day 08 Tabo/Kaza (45kms/02 hrs) via Dhankar monastery

Dhankar monastery: This ancient monastery now nearly in semi ruins due harsh weather and has been being painstakingly restored. Kaza monastery: it is another big Gompa for serving the population of eastern side. It belongs to the tenth century and is located 50 kms from Kaza. It is a famous Gompa next to Tholing Gompa in Tibet. It has about 60 lamas and a large collection of scriptures; wall paintings etc. Murals of this Gompa have a great similarity to that of the Ajanta paintings.

Day 09 Kaza – Kibber – Ki

After breakfast visit Ki Monastery – The Monastery of Spiti with rare paintings and scriptures. The scriptures are written in Bhoti language the mother tongue of Bhotias who came from Tibet to Spiti to spread Buddhism in the area. Further drive to Kibber village (4400 m/g kms.) the highest village in the world. Interact with the local people and visit one of the houses to observe the simple but systematic construction.

Day 10 Kaza- Manali

After breakfast Drive Kaza to Manali (12 Hrs) via Kunzum La (4551 M) & Rohtang Pass. You are back again in lush green Himalayas. This would be the final day of Himalayan Jeep Safari.

Day 11 Manali

Visit Manali including Vashistha & Hadimba Temple and Old Manali.

Day 12 Manali – Chandigarh – Delhi

After breakfast Drive to Chandigarh (08 Hrs) & connect evening Shatabdi train to Delhi.

Day 13 Departure Delhi

After breakfast transfer to International Airport to board flight for onward destination.
